Women Empowerment
Breaking Barriers, Building Futures
63%
of the worldโs illiterate adults are women
27%
of women face food insecurity (vs 25% of men)
129M
girls are out of school worldwide
9.2%
of women live in extreme poverty (vs 8.6% of men)
The Challenge
Women bear responsibility for meeting basic family needs, yet are systematically denied resources, information and freedom of action. The current global crisis disproportionately affects women – from food insecurity to limited educational opportunities.
Our Mission: HW&DO coordinates national efforts to integrate gender equality and women’s empowerment into poverty reduction, democratic governance, crisis prevention and recovery, following the Global Gender and Economic Policy Management Initiative (GEPMI).
Our Approach
We ensure women have a real voice in governance institutions – from judiciary to civil service, private sector and civil society. Women participate equally with men in public dialogue and decision-making, influencing decisions that determine their families’ and countries’ future.
๐ผ Vocational Training
Developing practical skills to create healthy, productive units of society through comprehensive skill development programs.
๐ณ๏ธ Governance Participation
Ensuring women’s representation in decision-making processes across all sectors of society and government.
๐ Economic Empowerment
Creating pathways for financial independence and breaking the cycle of poverty through targeted interventions.
Join the Movement
Together, we can create a world where every woman has the opportunity to thrive, lead, and contribute to society’s progress.
